SJM Turf & Civil reconstructed Marie Wallace Reserve to provide a state-of-the-art playing surface capable of supporting local sport and future AFLW use.
The project involved the removal of approximately 5,000 m³ of subgrade material and extensive reshaping of the oval. More than 5 km of Megaflo drainage was installed beneath a 150 mm aggregate layer and 250 mm rootzone profile, supported by a fully automated irrigation system and upgraded pumps.
A new natural turf wicket was constructed for competition and practice use. An ACO spoon drain was also installed around the oval perimeter to provide a clean, efficient and seamless drainage edge.
