The East Burwood Reserve redevelopment delivered essential infrastructure and a durable, elite-standard surface for community and high-level sporting use.
Challenging ground conditions required the oval subgrade to be stabilised with lime and cement to mitigate movement caused by seasonal temperature variations. SJM then completed bulk earthworks, safely carting and disposing of more than 9,000 m³ of material off site.
A new Megaflow drainage network and fully integrated irrigation system were installed. The new playing profile was formed with 4,285 tonnes of gravel and a further 7,145 tonnes of imported, laser-graded sand. The surface established quickly despite a limited grow-in period, enabling senior competition within weeks of completion.
